The Music Program at Trillium
- Come Join Us
-
- Music at Trillium brings people together to sing songs and play instruments, laugh together and love our God and the world more fully. At Trillium, an extremely diverse group of people that include a choir, smaller vocal ensembles, praise teams (vocal and instrumental) and a children's choir lend their commitment and talent in musical service.
- The choir encompasses 15 singers that ranging from university students to seniors. We sing songs from gospel, jazz, traditional and classical styles. We meet on Thursdays at 8:00 pm in the sanctuary at Trillium and the rehearsal is usually finished by 9:15 pm.... New members are always welcome and reading music is not a necessity.. We also enjoy singing in seasonal services such as the Choirs and Carols service at Christmas and periodically a full-length concert such as a cabaret or musical.
- The small vocal ensembles such as quartets, duets or soloists meet semi-regularly with the music director and are based on the ability to read music. These groups may sing with instrumentalists and be asked to prepare for seasonal events.
- The praise teams are an envolving group of singers and instrumentalists that meet weekly to prepare for the Sunday service. The music we produce is usually upbeat contemporary Christian and ethnic/world music. Our purpose is to provide a mix of rhythm and sound that contrasts and compliments more traditional aspects of the service.
- The Trillium youth form a small choir once or twice a year to have some fun and lend their fresh voices to special services. Enthusiasm and commitment are the main ingredients required.
- We welcome your participation in the music of Trillium. Come and join the choir for a few rehearsals and see what you think. Or call/email the music director to chat about your interest in participating in a particular music group.
